AMERICAN LEGION POST 46 BACKS OUR BOYS STATE REPRESENTATIVE WESLEY WILTSHIRE

POST 46 COMMANDER MARK POOLE WITH THE WILTSHIRES; WESLEY, PEGGY, & BUDDY.

POST COMMANDER MARK POOLE PRESENTS WESLEY WILTSHIRE WITH A CHARGE AND A CONGRATULATORY HANDSHAKE.

The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization,
committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our
communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security,
and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans. Boys State is
one of the many programs supported by the American Legion. It is among the most
respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high
school students. At Boys State, participants learn the rights, privileges and
responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the
structure of city, county and state governments. Operated by students elected to
various offices, Boys State activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings,
law-enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, choruses and recreational
programs.
Wesley Wiltshire has been selected to represent American Legion Post 46 to Boys
State commencing on May 26 in Oxford. Wesley is the son of Mayor Buddy and
Peggy Wiltshire and grandson to Army Air Force Veteran, George Lee Wiltshire and
Army Veteran Hoyt Webster. Post 46 voted and approved a motion to sponsor
Wesley on this journey.
Wesley, we would like to present you with a check for $300 towards your expenses
for Boys State 2019. As a post, we ask that you represent us to the best of your
ability. Represent the community in which you have grown and the family that has
raised you, being ever mindful of the veterans and active service men and women
that have fought for your ability to attend this prestigious program. Congratulations
and we look forward to hearing about your experience.
